Wilton Cormorant
This painting was shown at the RBA Bicentennial Exhibition at Mall Galleries.
Original oil painting on canvas covered board. 25.4cm x 30.5cm
Wilton Cormorant was painted as a tribute to the glory of the wildlife we so often take for granted, and was inspired by the Wilton Diptych (created for Richard II [c. 1335-1399] and now housed in the National Gallery in London).
This cormorant was photographed in Oxford.
One of a series of 4, each depicting a British bird.
