About me

I’m a British figurative artist based in Oxford.

I’ve been drawing and painting from an early age, encouraged by my artist grandmother, who bought me my first paints and taught me how to use them.

I grew up in the UK and Portugal, read Psychology at Durham University, and later spent a year in France where I studied at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Grasse.

I worked in marketing and consulting until a serious illness reminded me that life is short, and caused me to re-evaluate my priorities. As a result I ditched my desk job and returned to painting.

I have long been inspired by my reverence for nature and my love of myth and symbolism. I am also influenced by Renaissance art, icon paintings, history and all things opulent.

I work from my garden studio in Oxford, mostly painting in oils.
