The Stained Glass Eye of Oxford
Original watercolour, ink and gouache painting on 425gsm watercolour paper. 34cm x 25.5cm
This piece was inspired by the stunning stained glass that’s so prevalent in the churches and college chapels of Oxford. I’ve combined my reverence for the natural beauty of trees with the glory of stained glass colours - an homage to the magnificence of the built and wild Oxford.
If you look closely, you’ll spot an Alder beetle.
This is one of my Order and Chaos series, silhouette-based paintings inspired by the wildlife and nature I see and photograph on my walks around Oxford.
